In a region filled with lush forests and awe-inspiring mountains, pristine lakes and rivers, white-sand beaches and many islands you would think all is at peace. But Marian is far from it. Problems long forgotten are rising again to plague Marianites region wise.
The ancient guardians of Mahou Island, once taken for granted, have formed three separate factions: Team Andromeda, Team Apus, and Team Cetus. Each team dedicated itself to reviving one of the three legendary Pokemon that used to control certain areas of Marian: Keres, Phiea and Neryuu. It is uncertain how far or near they are to their goals. And Marianites can take little comfort in knowing that so long as the three teams are fighting against each other ultimate doom is postponed...

Partially hidden within a small forest is the Marketplace and within one can buy or sell many things. Various vendors and shops can only be found within the Marketplace, so if you can't find an item in the Pokemart you should definitely stop by!
This Y shaped building is the gathering place for many trainers all over the region. Now, before you call the grammar police, you should know that though this is the place for duels and fights, it is called the dual tower because it serves a second purpose. Here, trainers can both battle and trade with each other.
While Secret Bases may be a bit more reclusive, if you buy a house here in the Housing District, you'll have plenty of models to choose from! And what's better is you'll never lose your place of refuge again!
Run by a kindly old couple, this Pokemon Daycare works much like a Breeding Farm owned by various trainers. If for whatever reason trainers wish for someone else to care for their Pokemon, their minds can be at rest knowing that the Pokemon are in good hands here. The old couple will even help your companions learn new moves, but will delete old ones if they need to! And if you're lucky, and there are Pokemon in the same breeding group about, they might just lay an egg for you to take home!
Those who aspire to become Pokemon breeders' ultimate goal is to own a farm where they can raise their Pokemon. Breeding farms allow breeders to set up a farm either based on type or egg group, and can be expanded to include other features such as isolation chambers. Trainers can also choose to leave their Pokemon at a farm- for a fee- to have them taken care of, and even possibly bred.
Located southeast to the mainland lies not only Marian's biggest island, but also the starting point for every trainer's journey. Hidden away in the quaint forest that covers the island lies the small town of Asarta. And it is here that you will be able to obtain your Starter from Professors Alyssa and Xiel Zantakesu, Gazzy, Cassie, and Cara.
Taking up most of Lillythorn Island, as well as concealing the town of Asarta is Pomum Forest. The forest itself is almost as quiet as Asarta, though the myriad of trees make it easy to get lost within the forest if you stray too far from the beaten path that leads to Lillythorn docks.
On the Northwest side of Lillythorn Island are the Lillythorn Docks-- the sole way off of Lillythorn for new Trainers. And with it are a few ferry boats that constantly rotate between the Docks and Carina Port, carrying many Trainers across the water free of charge! Also, if your running low on items after Pomum Forest you can take a peek into the small Pokemon Mart located here.
The water here is crystal clear all year-round, surrounded by an extensive coral reef. The beach itself is the home to many water-loving Pokemon, and within the reef live many exotic Water-type Pokemon. Rumor has it that there is an underwater passage through the reef, but until you have the Dive HM it'll be hard to investigate that.
This grassy route is sparsely populated with broad-leaved trees, and is the preferred enviornment for several Flying, Bug, and Normal-Type Pokemon. This route is longer than following Usen Beach to Tonden, but it is certainly the safer of the two routes.
Acessible through both routes 2 and 3 is Tonden City, which is overshadowed by the vast Pali Range. Quite a large city, many people live here, and thus a Gym has sprung up.
This creepy-looking cave's mouth is right on the border of Tonden City. Deep inside, the cave's linear route divides-- one path continued northeast and to Route Four and the other path towards Lake Kathar in the west. The cave itself is full of various dark and rock-type Pokemon, many of whom are not-too-keen on humans trespassing in their territory.
Emerging from the north-east exit of Umbra Cavern will bring you directly into the beginning of the long and treacherous Pali-Dorcet Ruins. These buildings have been around for centuries, some still intact but most crumbling-- all covering any possible walking ground. The rubble has formed a natural maze over time, shifting with each slight alteration of the ground beneath the Pali range. However, should you succeed in navigating your way through, Caelum town awaits you on the other side.
This town is the highest town in Marian Region, built in the Pali Range past the trials of the Pali-Dorcet Ruins. This town was originally a series of camps dotting the high mountains until just over two hundred years ago, when the camps joined together and were officially designated a town. Of course, times have changed this scenic mountain retreat, and it is now home to a gym and an ever-growing population. Due to the location of the town, several high-profile media icons reside here, to escape the masses below.
Lake Kathar is the cleanest, most pristine body of water in Marian Region. From nearly any point the bottom of the lake is clearly visible, revealing an underwater passageway that feeds the lake from the ocean. A boardwalk follows the northern edge of the lake, leading from the cave exit to the Town on the western end of the lake.
West of Lake Kathar lies a small town, built centuries ago and said to be the original home of gaurdians of the lake. Although the modern day inhabitants do not beleive such stories, the law of the town forbids fishing in the lake at any time, as well as forbidding any motorized transport on the lake.
This forest, recently restored, was burned down ages ago by a stampede of Rapadash. However, it was replanted and is now growing wonderfully. To the western end, however, the seems to be an area where the trees won't grow leaves. This forest is inhabited primarily by grass and bug-type Pokemon.
This route is populated mostly by Fire type Pokemon, and the odd Rock or Ground Type. The ground is littered with ash from the fire that burned down the first Mazzo Forest, and gets very hot during the day. The exact cause of the heat is unknown, but is beleived to be underground.
This city is famous for it's all-night activity, and it's hot-tempered, battle-obsessed atmosphere. Apote not only has a Gym, but also an excellent Battle Coliseum where Pokemon Trainers can challenge eachother to grand spectacular battles, or enter the annual Pokemon Trainer's Challenge Tournament!
This flower-filled field sits to the southwest of Apote City, and is always surrounded by a dense mist. This is beleived to be caused by the colder air hitting the warmer air from Mount Argyre to the west - but either way, it is very difficult to see, and trainers should tread with caution.
This mountain was once a great source of income for the wealthier class in Marian Region, as several rare ores were once found in abundance here. However, now such ores are long gone, and the mountain itself has become a habitat for several species of wild Pokemon. On the lower levels, mining equipment is still established, although most of it is disfunctional.
Directly to the west of Mount Argyre is what used to be Route 9 - now a poisonous marsh. A sudden overpopulation of Grimer and Muk made the route impossible to transverse, so a tunnel was dug underneath - with the result of hitting an already existing tunnel network. These tunnels are suspected to be the final resting place of an ancient civilization, and wild Pokemon roam free- but following the tunnels to the direct west at all costs will eventually lead to fresh air and freedom once more.
This city sits on the western coast of Marian Region, housing a port from which several western islands can be reached. This city does house a Gym, but is otherwise un-important to trainers.
The Kremos Shelf is a rocky, barren clifftop that leads north from Seline City to the Emico Shoreline. Few Pokemon stray across the Kremos Shelf aside from those far too large or too heavy to be picked off by the huge bird Pokemon that inhabit the area.
The Emico Shoreline is a cold, rocky beach that is backed by the untraversable segments of the Kremos Shelf. The northern waters are cold, making this beach desolate except for the lone fisherman or observer. Seel and Dewgong tend to sun themselves here, and with a pair of binoculars you may be able to see a pair of Lapras out at sea!
Although it is well known that the northernmost mountains of the Marian Region are too cold to be traversed by any human, some of the lower mountains can be partially traveled; that is how this town came to exist. Begining as a simple ski resort on the smallest of the northern mountains, this town expanded to include a Gym, a Pokemon Center, a Pokemon Mart, and a well known observatory.
The caves at the top of Iugo Town's ski slopes all lead into this cavern - which extends from the town to the east, all the way to the Koyad Valley. So-called "cold weather" Pokemon roam the cave freely in addition to the typical cave-dwelling Pokemon, so keep an eye out for some new additions to your team!
The Koyad Valley connects Chalyo Cave to Baryl City, and is also the home of a very large variety of Pokemon species. The Berry Master's Farm is in this fertile valley, so stopping by on the way to Baryl City might be a good idea.
Baryl City was once a small town, but with the rich metals and valuable resources surrounding it, it eventually expanded into the technological capitol of Marian Region. As such, many rarities can be found here that will not be found anywhere else.
This port is the least developed one in the Marian Region, consisting only of the docks and a small mistreated shack where docking boats are to sign in. The keeper of the docks is particularly odd...
This forest is eternally shrouded by darkness with unknown cause - people who have entered see wondrous things, including, supposedly, an entire city! However, it has been stated by the Pokemon League that these few are affected by dementia, and are actually reaching Nightstorm City on the far side of the island, through the forest.
This city is very, very old - perhaps the oldest in the region. Some documents in the city include sea charts that do not include several of the south-western islands, or the mountain ranges to the extreme north of the mainland - suggesting that the city has been around since before those areas were explored.
The Docks of Adaki Island are well-built and sturdy, although offer nothing beyond somewhere for the ferries to let off passengers. Directly beyond the clearing where the docks meet land is the entrance to the Fylowood.
The Fylowood covers the majority of Adaki Island, an oddly lush rain forest located in the extreme north. Rumor has it that the climate stays the same due to something deep underground, but nobody has ever proven it. Somewhere in the north end, although never properly mapped, is the rope-ladder area that leads up to the treetop town of Reichwald.
This treetop town is the second-last stop for trainers taking the Marian League Challenge. The wooden buildings untouched by the advance of technology keep a quaint feel here, with the exception of the Pokemon Center.
Upon exiting the undersea channel that carries trainers to the Zoiros Citadel, they arrive in the Deep-Sea Antechamber; to the south is the sea-exit for those leaving the Citadel, and to the North are the heavy iron doors that lead further into the last stop of the Marian League Challenge. Moderators: Winterbane, M a i, Vixen, {//Summer//}, Adder
The first chamber after the Deep-Sea Antechamber is somewhat menacing, dark and dank like an artificial cave. fluorescent lights line the marble walls, casting an eerie silver glow through the mist that covers the floor. However, there may be an HM that can clear it up...
Pokemon roam this floor freely, providing the first of many challenges to face in the Zoiros Citadel. Moderators: Winterbane, M a i, Vixen, {//Summer//}, Adder
The third floor of the Zoiros Citadel is light-less, aside from that of the floor below. Maze-like walls fill this chamber, along with both and Pokemon. Even with a source of light, this floor is quite the challenge, even to an experienced trainer. Moderators: Winterbane, M a i, Vixen, {//Summer//}, Adder
The fourth chamber on the ascent through the Zoiros Citadel is somewhat more welcoming than the third, although just as dangerous, if not more.
The walls of this chamber are covered in vines, let grow rampant intentionally. Various tropical plant-life fills the massive room, providing for a sort-of indoor jungle.
The fifth and final floor of the Zoiros Citadel is by far the most dangerous, although clear of terrain or other difficulties. This is because of the extremely powerful Pokemon that roam the floor. All Pokemon of extreme rarity and power, they are incredibly hard to beat and near impossible to catch. However, should you manage to leave this floor, you will find yourself at the rest stop before facing Marian Region's Elite Four. Moderators: Winterbane, M a i, Vixen, {//Summer//}, Adder
The top floor of the Zoiros Citadel, this area is the final stop before the Marian Region Elite Four. A tower sits on each corner of the rectangular area, a walkway connecting the four together at their tops following the high outer wall. A Pokemon Center exists in this area, as well as a Pokemon Mart.
Unlike other Pokemon Leagues, Marian Region's League allows trainers to choose which Elite to battle first. However, once you step into the elevator leading to your first opponent, there's no turning back until all four have been defeated.
